A New Adventure

Hey all,  This is a new and exciting adventure for me.  After many years of being a bandmate, a sideman or simply a hired gun musician, producer or songwriter… I'm finally getting a chance to release solo music.  The idea is to release a 3 song EP every month for the next several months.  Things will probably slow down a bit after the initial burst, but I plan to continue writing, recording and releasing new material for years and years to come.  This has been a labor of love and I could not have accomplished it without the unwavering love and support from my soulmate, best friend and wife… Christie Slone.  She was perhaps the biggest catalyst in myself feeling empowered enough to go for it!  This was a tall task indeed.  Some of this material was leftover from things I had written from bands in the past that I was a member of, or produced in the studio.  Some of this material is very, very new.       All of the songs are from the heart, real and unfiltered…. in other words, these songs came out of my creative mind free from any restraints!  I was not setting out to write a hit song, a particular style of music or a song that I felt fit a bandmate or other artist perfectly.  I just sat down with a guitar and allowed all that comes naturally to happen.  I'm proud of the fact that this is a true solo effort!  Not only did I write all of the music and lyrics by myself… but I performed every single vocal part and instrument that you will hear on the EPs.  Yes, every single thing (lead and backing vocals, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, lead guitar, 12-string guitars, drums and percussion and bass guitar).  However, what I'm most proud of is the engineering and producing I did on these recordings.  It is oldschool all the way!  There is zero autotune on vocals, zero sound replacement on drums or cymbals, zero drum loops, zero midi for anything, zero beat detective or aligning tracks to a grid, etc etc. Everything you will hear on these recordings is something I could play or sing in person without the help of technology.  The only thing I did take advantage of is being able to record multiple tracks (one at a time) to achieve whatever my mind's ear was desiring.  I really hope all of you enjoy this music.  It really does give you a glimpse into my heart and soul.  Until next time… thank you for the support!                                                                                             ------ Greg Slone
